Harvey Reid & Joyce Andersen

If you’re like us, you keep discovering great musicians in plain sight. Laurelyn and I started learning to play and sing only a few years ago. Our friend and bandmate introduced us to a set of recordings (Thanks, Pat Sorenson!) by Harvey and Joyce as examples of traditional songs, clean arrangements, stunning singing, with just-right tasteful picking, and we fell in love. We soon discovered that the duo live in Maine and play often throughout the Northeast. Laurelyn connected with Joyce at a festival, and here they are! We’re so glad they’re coming.

With all due respect to the hot tickets at the top of the bluegrass and Americana charts, I can listen to Harvey and Joyce all day long. They bring the old songs alive with deep respect and soul that leaves behind any stifled reverence for they way things used to be. Their own songs share the same sense of earthy feeling, wit, and joy. And then there’s Harvey’s brilliant playing on any string instrument. I want to play like Harvey when I grow up! What better way to spend a winter afternoon with friends and neighbors!

One key aim of the concerts is to support artists. If plans change, we get it. You have options:

  • Treat your ticket as a donation to the artists. For many of us, that’s not much to give, but it can mean a tank of gas or a meal to musicians funding their own tour.
  • Give your ticket to someone who wants to take your place. That would feel good, wouldn’t it? Let us know who’s coming in your stead.

100 percent of the proceeds from concerts at our house will always go to the artists. At Clark Farm, a portion of the proceeds goes to the farm to cover the low, low cost of hosting us.

Thanks for understanding and sharing our aim to help artists with a little generosity. As we said in the newsletter, feel free to let us know what you think and feel about the ticketing process. We’ll review how it went at the end of 2026.

Hi! John and Laurelyn here.

We have a simple aim in mind: live a little more each day in such a way that when we die, we have few regrets. Not a life of more, but a life that is rich, deep, and connected to people, those we love and whoever we encounter.

Take a look at Laurelyn’s art and consider joining us for a house concert.
