Eugene Tyler Band

Here’s a band we think you should know about, not least because Eugene Tyler Band is the winner of the Thomas Point Bluegrass Festival (2021). We saw them first at Ossipee Valley Music Festival in 2024 and then at Cambridge’s Lizard Lounge in 2025. We loved them both times. They played a warm, inventive set of their own music and covers at Ossipee, including a dreamlike original about a bear. Really. At Lizard Lounge they brought that early country soun, and some driving bluegrass. Eugene has the perfect high tenor voice for both.

Eugene Gardner (vocals/guitar/mandolin/tenor guitar), Danny Tyler (banjo/guitar) and Marc Jaffee (upright bass/vocals) all grew up within a few miles of each other in New York’s Hudson Valley, where they are currently based. They’re a band with multiple personalities, but always with the same sense of humor.

They’re at work on a new album, too. Expect to hear some new music from this trio.

Hi! John and Laurelyn here.

We have a simple aim in mind: live a little more each day in such a way that when we die, we have few regrets. Not a life of more, but a life that is rich, deep, and connected to people, those we love and whoever we encounter.

Take a look at Laurelyn’s art and consider joining us for a house concert.
